In all my 6 years of living in Birmingham, it has never snowed enough to make any accumulation. Yes we have had flurries before, but on Saturday we had a couple of inches. Needless to say I was soooooo excited, much to Jeremy's pessimism. Below are some pictures from our snow storm.

Recap - November Miami Trip
Okay, so I went to Miami on a work trip in early November. We had our quarterly project manager's meeting at a resort called Blue Moon. Not my first choice of where to stay, but it was definitely Miami.
Below are some pictures from our time there. One slide show is of some of my other coworkers and then the next one is of our boat tour. Enjoy!!!

Recap - September
So I mentioned that we have been busy. Well today I am off work and playing catch up. Jeremy came with me to New Orleans one weekend and then we went to an Auburn game and that about wraps it up. There are pictures of us in Auburn with our friends, Brooks, Juli and Noah, and some pictures of our time in New Orleans

The house is the one used in the Real World New Orleans.

Busy Life
So if you haven't talked to us lately, well that can only mean one thing...we are super busy. Life has a way of doing that to you and more importantly work has a way of doing that to you. So while I am down here in Miami (yes it is a work/fun trip) I thought I would get you all caught up. July, August and September were super busy months that I spent 75% of my time in Mississippi and Louisiana. The rest oft he time I was in Auburn or hosting showers. Life has a way of doing that.
In late October I was offered a new position at work that will keep me home more, especially no more weekend work. I have changed my title from Project Manager to Program/Pre-Construction Manager. In an essence, I will be doing all the Due Diligence items, leading up to handing off the project to a Project Manager. At this time I am working on having at least 100 projects in Construction Document production by January 1. We are doing some 200 projects next year and that is our goal. So work will not slow down too much but I can do more of it in Birmingham.
Well right now I am uploading photos from the trip and will post them soon. Until then, ciao.

Happy Birthday!

Friday was Jeremy's birthday! We pretty much had a vacation for his birthday. On Wednesday, I had to work in Gulf Shores. When we were done, we headed to Destin for the rest of the week. On Thursday we checked into the Inn at Seacrest Beach. It is situated between Alys Beach and Rosemary Beach, two of the most beautiful and secluded beaches in Florida.
We had a wonderful time laying out in the almost deserted beach and in the pool. There were 6 people at most that were in the pool at one time. It was great to enjoy the quiet down time, much needed from the joint aspects of our work. I think we are both quite overwhelmed with both our jobs right now.
Anyway, when we returned to Birmingham on Sunday, we had dinner with a few friends and Jeremy's mom at the Village Tavern. Of course he had a cake showing how old he is getting!

Hunts-vegas!
This past weekend we were at Brittany and Charlie's wedding. Of course we stayed with Meredith and Scott again and had so much fun staying at Hotel Horne with them and Nemo. Below are some pictures of us dressed up and one of Jeremy & Nemo.

Busy Busy Busy
So as many have guessed we have been busy over the past month. On April 26th, we closed on both the old and new houses. We began moving in on that day with the help of Sarah, Kris, and Adam. Otherwise Jeremy and I would have never been able to finish the boxes.
The next day we had professional movers to move our "big" stuff, ie furniture. They were horrible. If you are moving, let me know before you hire movers. I would tell you who not to hire. But anyway we got moved in and out of the other house by Friday at 5 pm. I think we had 5 minutes left to get out.
Our new house is great. I am just trying to get used to all the sounds. Imagine to our surprise we kept hearing this sound like the garage door opening/closing. It took us until Sunday morning to figure that one out. We have a sump pump for the first floor, which is located under the stairs. For a while there we thought we were going crazy!
This past weekend we went to Huntsville to Cyndee Carver's wedding. Jeremy was good friends with her at college, so we went. We stayed with Meredith and Scott while in Huntsville and have reserved our room at their house again for this weekend. Charlie and Britt's wedding is this Saturday, May 12th at the Huntsville Botanical Gardens. I am just wondering when we are going to have a weekend that we can stay at home and finish unpacking and hanging pictures on the wall.

Because I Said So
Let's face it. When it gets cold, Jeremy and I become dull. We have been hibernating trying to keep warm ever since the weather turned frigid. Last weekend was a first to get out of the house.
Friday I went with some ladies from my Sunday School Class to dinner and a movie, Because I Said So. Dinner wasn't the best, but conversation was definitely lively. The movie was such the chick-flick. It was good because of the love triangle and a nosy mom to add to the mix. I think it depicts how real life is. Here are some stills:

Night at the Museum
Well not much has happened with us during the past few weeks. Work has been hectic especially for Jeremy. Mine is on hold until January 15th and then the travel starts back up.
On Christmas day, we have been doing a new tradition for me and an old one for Jeremy by going to see a movie. This year we saw Night at the Museum. It was funny as are all of the movies Ben Stiller is in. Here are a few still shots with an all-star cast.

Day 6 & 7 - St. Augustine & Jacksonville
Dec. 7th (Thursday) - Nana’s Birthday
Jeremy and I started our day with a trip to St. Augustine. We took the historical trolley thru St. Augustine. I learned exactly how old this town really is. I didn’t know it prior to going. Nana picked a lunch at Longhorn, where we all got stuff with beef. After lunch, we continued on to Jacksonville to see the landing. I received another personalized tour of where all of Jeremy’s family lived and grew up in Jacksonville.

Dec. 8th (Friday)
We went back to St. Augustine to finish up our tour. We picked a bad day to go, because it was so cold with the wind gusting up to 25 mph and cold off the water. However we did get to see a cannon fired at the old fort. It was so windy that it took 2 tries to get it fired. After this, we picked up Uncle Ron to go do some Christmas shopping. It took a little while, but we found the perfect gift – a new LCD TV. Yes, it was for us, but he didn’t pay for it all. We will end up paying for a little more than half, but it is still better than us paying for it all. We can’t wait to pick it up in B’ham.

Day 5 - Orlando to Palatka
Dec. 6th (Wednesday)
This day began with us shopping at one of the many outlets. We continued on to Altamonte Springs, where I received a personalized tour. Jeremy lived there for 5 years while he was growing up. His old house was still in one of the nice areas. It hasn’t been trashed like many other older neighborhoods. We continued back on to Palatka to stay with Nana and Papa again, since we didn’t spend a lot of time with them earlier in the week. Uncle Ron also took some time off to see us. He never takes vacation days, so imagine to our surprise he takes off when we come. Maybe we need to come down more so he won’t continue to get his computer fix and he can take some time to relax. While we stayed in Palatka, I took many pictures of Nikki – their newest Pomeranian. She is adorable and spunky! She also has a sock/shoe fettish!
